Henry slept from about 11am today until around 5pm. This is the longest period of restfulness since this whole ordeal began. He rested quietly and when he did wake up, he was in a fine mood. We talked and took another wagon ride. He asked for food - he hasn't eaten it yet, but its a start. His constipation issue seems to be 'moving along' (for lack of a better phrase).
Henry's had all kinds of medicine today. Zosyn, Amikacin, Bactrim, Tylenol, Miralax, Senna, Nystatin, Ativan and something called Larry's Solution. He's begun getting intravenous nutrition or Total Parenteral Nutrition (TPN) because he won't eat. He had his platelet transfusion early today too. For all the stuff they've given him, the thing that made him feel better was good old fashioned sleep.
Sometime after his nap, he said, "I like it when you hold me." He spent a little time on my lap. We laughed a little. I put him back in bed. We read books and he fell asleep while I read to him. His peacefulness tonight was the best medicine for me.

It does my heart good to hear that he is comforted by you, Bryan. There is nothing more powerful or greater than a parents love. Henry is so blessed to have you and Tara as parents. I hope he has made a turn and each and everyday he gets better and better.
Love to you, little Henry.

Thank you for keeping us all updated on Henry's days... Sending so much love his way. Thank you both for being so strong for Henry.
It has to be so very tough to see your little guy go thru all this!
We think of you daily!!

Dear Brian and family,
We continue to check into the website every couple of days or so to see how Henry and you all are doing. My kindergarten class still remembers Henry every morning in their prayers and special intentions...without any prompting from me. The Balog girls ask about Henry too, and want to know if he's feeling any better. I try to explain his treatments simply so they can understand. They feel concern for him and want to offer help and encouragement. "Hang in there Henry!!!" You are in our thoughts and prayers.

Bryan,
I was at church last night and there was a poster with Henry's "zucchini" picture in the center and it read, The Senior Sunday School Class is Praying for Henry.
This same class has ordered 500 white bracelets to sell as a fund raiser to remind people of the power of prayer.
You and Tara are not alone - as is demonstrated daily.
This is to the last commenter. I would like to purchase 20 bracelets. I had have many people inquire about them. Have a student contact me at:

Bryan and family, Am relieved that Henry had some good rest time. And what a precious moment of "lap time". Praying that Henry feels up to another wagon ride soon.
Looking forward to the arrival of the bracelets to share with family and friends.
