It's OK, I'm Used To It

So the oncologist called today and told us that tomorrow would be our admit day. It's what they told us to expect, but with the insurance as the critical dependency, I was kind of hoping for one more weekend.

I told the girls and Henry. We'd be gone for about 2 months at the hospital, that we'd try to work out visits to see Henry there. Anna teared up a bit - it gets to her when we're not here consistently and despite being 'annoyed' at him, she misses Henry when he's away.

My mother is here and has been since Tuesday. It worked out well that she was able to experience energetic, happy Henry before this all starts up again. She's missed some of the best time with him but I'm glad she had a couple of non-hospital days around the house here.

I have this strange conflicting irritation with the kids' minute-by-minute demands whenever we are expecting the hospital. I get frustrated with myself for it, because I feel I should be more patient and appreciative of them at such a time. It's so tumultuous the swirls of emotion rushing around in my head. I can feel it in my chest at times too.

Henry was more or less nonplussed by my mention of the hospital today.

"Will I get to play in the playroom?

"Yes."

"Will they hook me up?"

"Yes."

"That's OK - I'm used to it."

Enough said.

Tara, Bryan and family, Sorry you were not able to get one more weekend at home.
Glad your mom is in town to "hold down the fort", along with Granya and Deedad.
I guess if Henry's "used to it", we should all follow his lead.

Well, Henry's ok with it so let's try to stay strong just like him. I think it's time to get the prayers started full force and keep positive thoughts in our hearts and leave the rest to God to handle. That's the best we can do for now, and thats a lot.
All our Love to ALL of YOU. Wichita

Dear God,
Thank you for the strong caring family you have made for Henry. Thank you for the positive MRI results and help them to focus on the positive when the difficulties of the weeks that lie ahead cloud their vision. Thank you for best medical care in the world being at their back door and despite the fact that they will be away for a long time, help them to remember they are close to home, family, and friends. As Henry and his family begin this next difficult phase, please help them to remember your love and feel your support.
Amen

You are all in our thoughts and prayers. We know you can do it. God Bless,
Chad, Julie, Lane & Keller
